Matt Szczur Drafted by the Cubs in the 5th Round
Matt Szczur, the two-sport Villanova athlete who led the football team to an FCS Championship, was selected in the 5th round of the MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs. His .443 batting average was 4th highest in team history. Szczur was known for his incredible athleticism; he was arguably the best athlete to play football for Villanova since Brian Westbrook.

Villanova's Ben Ijalana might be the FCS' best NFL Draft prospect
Monstrous Villanova offensive tackle Ben Ijalana could be the next early round NFL Draft pick from the FCS.
At least that's what his head coach Andy Talley thinks. Ijalana was named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press last season. He was the leader of an offensive line that paved the way for more than 3,000 rushing yards last season by the team's top four rushers.
