JayVaughn Pinkston Named Big East Rookie Of The Week
Make it 2 times in 4 weeks for Villanova Wildcats freshman JayVaughn Pinkston as he's again been recognized by the Big East Conference as the Rookie of the Week.
Despite playing just 1 game last week, Pinkston put up a dominiating performance in a comeback victory against Providence, posting 28 points and 14 rebounds. He scored the team's final 9 points of the game including the go-ahead bucket with 24 seconds left.
"It shows you how hard the kid worked," stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright about Pinkston in the aftermath of the Providence victory at the Pavilion. "You just get special guys sometimes and he is so coachable. It is amazing, that whatever you tell him to do, he does. He just has the greatest attitude."

Can JVP 'Bull' his way to a 4-2 finish?
With or without Wayns it will take winning 4 of the last 6 plus a win at MSG to make it to a post season Tourney….which would provide even greater experience for next year.
It looks grim, but a win over a USF team that embarrassed the team in the Cat house may just provide a needed jolt. The Bulls are tough in Tampa but the Cats have had plenty of time to prepare!

He's so coachable...
Way to take credit, Jay.
The one guy playing well
After all we’ve seen, I’d almost argue he’s going against what Wright is preaching
