Kevin Cunningham Chosen as 19th Overall Pick in 2012 Major League Lacrosse Draft

This past weekend in Philadelphia, the 2012 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft was conducted. Current Villanova senior attackmen Kevin Cunningham (Garden City, NY/Kellenberg High School) was selected 19th by the Boston Cannons. The draft consisted of 8 rounds and 64 overall picks. Upon graduation, Cunningham will report to the defending champion's organization.

Cunningham will be a captain for the 2012 Wildcats, as he comes off a stellar junior campaign in which he notched 24 goals and 21 assists. In addition, he was a unanimous selection to the All-Big East First Team last year. Cunningham commented on his selection to the MLL after the draft:

"It's a great feeling and I'm very excited. It's an honor to join the Boston Cannons, the defending champions, and I hope to contribute as best I can."
