Morning Cup O' Mud: Kyle Lowry Carries Philly Over LeBron

If you remember a few weeks back, we posted about the NBA superstars' event that was to be played at The Palestra in Philadelphia while the NBA lockout rages on with no sign of ending anytime soon. Well, that event came and went on Sunday afternoon, and it was former Villanova Wildcats star Kyle Lowry who led the Philly stars to an upset of a team led by Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James.

Despite a rain-shortened tournament Villanova still amassed eight victories in singles play this past weekend at the SJU Invitational, hosted by Saint Josephs and featuring a number of local teams. Due to weather-related schedule changes the Wildcats played only in singles matches during the tournament and went a combined 8-7 for the weekend.

Freshman Jessica Swoboda (Hanover Township, Pa.) and senior goalkeeper Megan Goelz (Pennsbury, Pa.) have both been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after the Wildcats went 2-0 this week and have climbed to above .500 at 5-4 for the season. Villanova had a pair of 2-1 victories against Penn and Rutgers this past week.
