Scottie Reynolds Fights With Connor Atchley In D-League Game

In a story first reported by our friends over at Ridiculous Upside, former Villanova Wildcats star Scottie Reynolds got into a brawl with Connor Atchley to close out the NBA D-League season.

Beat writer David Hinojosa detailed the altercation in his column, saying that several earlier meet-ups led to the eventual Wrestlemania-style brawl.

"Reynolds knocked Atchley in the face with his forearm in a play where no foul was called. Several minutes later, Atchley set a hard pick on Reynolds and was called for a foul. Then, the altercation happened a few minutes later."

The incident ended with Reynolds yelling at opposing coach Chris Finch, "Get off me! I ain't your guy, dawg!"

Springfield's season is over as they will miss the playoffs, so any disciplinary action towards Reynolds will not affect this season. Chris Finch was ejected for 'instigating' the situation while Reynolds, Atchley, and Terrel Harris were also ejected (Harris for leaving the bench).

"I thought the game got out of hand earlier with a bunch of cheap shots. That's what happens. The curious part is that a lot of those cheap shots came in open play and everyone saw it. (The officials) chose to let the players play on. You can't do that," Finch told Hinojosa. "The decision (to eject Finch was) made because they said I escalated it, and that couldn't be further from the truth. I pulled Reynolds off of Atchley. No one else would pull them off. The referees ran away from the situation. Then, it was a matter of getting them separated in a pile. I don't know how they feel that's escalating. Coaches are allowed to get on the court to break it up and that's what I did."

Don't know about everyone else...

but I’m happy Scottie showed some emotion. Been keeping everything internalized it seems over his 4 years at Nova, and it all came out.

Don’t really love the fighting, but a nice little scrap once in a while never hurt anyone.

Can you tell hockey playoffs are coming?

I prematurely shot my wad, if you will, on what was supposed to be a dry run, and now it looks like I have something of a mess on my hands.
