No Word Yet On Mouphtaou Yarou

NEW YORK, NY - MARCH 08: Mouphtaou Yarou #13 of the Villanova Wildcats is helped off the court after hitting the court and injuring his face during the first half against the South Florida Bulls during the first round of the 2011 Big East Men's Basketball Tournament presented by American Eagle Outfitters at Madison Square Garden on March 8, 2011 in New York City. There has been no official word out of Villanova on the status of Mouphtaou Yarou, despite what it said in this report.

Don't let the rest of that article freak you out - I still think that 'Nova is comfortably in, which is exactly what Jerry Palm (the end-all of bracketologists as far as I'm concerned) said last night via Twitter.

The most important thing - hopefully Yarou is healthy and will be able to finish out the season with the team.

Not sure that's true

That was an immediate rumor during the game that the SBN bracketologist clearly ran with, but Jay said it was a rib injury and a concussion after the game.

That'd be good...

Though I saw some tweets from today too saying he was out…but not yet from a source I recognized…

I prematurely shot my wad, if you will, on what was supposed to be a dry run, and now it looks like I have something of a mess on my hands.

This would be a major setback for him....

He needs a healthy off season to play a ton of pick up ball and go to a big man camp or two to develop his game.

True or not...

Is there a reason worth even trying to rush Mouph back, (if it’s not broken), and possibly do something even worse to his injury?

I’d vote to leave him sidelined until he’s healthy again for his own sake. This kid’s got two more great years ahead of him!
