Morning Cup O' Mud: Scottie Reynolds Still Pushing For The NBA
I've always admired Scottie Reynolds for his work ethic. Though I find it hard to disagree with the assessment that he isn't what an NBA team typically looks for in a shooting guard, the success of J.J. Barea, among others, and Reynolds' ability to just flat out win, lead to to believe that if given a shot he could help a team. Hell, I'll even go as far to say that the New York Knicks should sign him. They don't believe in defense either.
And now, the news.

There's video of Reynolds' burying Pitt in the Elite 8, which means I'm obligated to post this article.
Villanova’s no-sign policy is no good for Big 5 | The Daily Pennsylvanian
I completely agree with all of this. Rollouts should be allowed. You know what else should be? Throwing streamers on the court. That's been banned too. It's why the Big 5 is losing its magic.

Big 5
The problem with the Big 5, is that it is the Big 1 (Nova), the so-so 1 (Temple), and the mediocre 3 (St. Joe’s, Penn, LaSalle) not that you can’t have signs or streamers.

I'd give Temple better than a so-so 1..they're pretty good
Penn and Joe’s stink. LaSalle looks like they are improving.

Even so
They’re still a good program and regularly give the major programs a good fight when they face ‘em. Don’t get me wrong, on a program level they aren’t with Villanova right now, but they’re improving.

I think we should play them..
They are a nice program, but that’s about it. People act as if they are better than they really are.

Temple & Joe's
Are the only Philly teams I care about. Temple because it’s a good rivalry and typically a hard-fought game and Joe’s because I like the demolition.

I got Temple mixed up with Xavier
and could have sworn that I remembered Temple vs. Pitt in the Sweet 16 back in 2009.
