Scottie Reynolds Signs Contract In Italy
Scottie Reynolds has agreed to a 1-year contract with Prima Verdi of the Italian League Second Division, the Philadelphia Daily News is reporting.
The contract was negotiated by agents Art Tellum and Lee Melchioni. According to Melchioni, the Reynolds' camp is excited about the move.
"We've been working on this for a while," Melchoni said. "The offer is something that blew us out of the water."
Reynolds had shined for the Phoenix Suns during the NBA Summer League, and many thought he had a great chance of making the team. It appears the lure of playing time and guaranteed money won out.
I can't say I'm shocked. Playing in the NBA is something special, but even had Scottie made a team playing time would have been hard to come by. Working on his game for a year overseas and then giving it another shot makes a ton of sense.

Congrats Scottie!!
Very surprised. Based on what I heard from multiple reports, he had an excellent chance of making the Suns. I guess the money is better in Europe.
Can't fault him
Guaranteed money and playing time vs. sitting on the bench waiting for an injury to get on the court.
Good decision by him. Show you can play over there and some NBA probably takes a shot on you in an Eddie House role.
My father was a military man. Guess I wasn't such a 'good soldier.' Anyways, when I was 35 he attempted to give me a crew-cut while I was asleep. I woke up, broke his arm, haven't seen him since.
