BIG EAST Men's Basketball Opponents Announced

Yeah, we do know who the opponents will be every year. But what we always wait for around summer is the announcement of the who we are playing at home, who we play on the road, and the 3 teams we'll play twice.

Here is Villanova's slate:

Home

  • Cincinnati
  • Georgetown
  • Louisville
  • Marquette
  • St. John's
  • West Virginia

Away

  • UConn
  • DePaul
  • Notre Dame
  • Providence
  • Seton Hall
  • South Florida

Home/Away

  • Syracuse
  • Pittsburgh
  • Rutgers

Some early thoughts -- I think we got a gift with our away schedule. Outside of UConn (and who knows how they will be this year) and South Florida (they are tough at home) we shouldn't have much of a problem. We got the meat of the league at home, which is great to see.

In terms of the home-n-homes, I'm glad Syracuse and PIttsburgh are both on it. Yes, those are tough teams, but they are also rivals and we should be playing them twice a year. If we lose to Rutgers I give up.

Thoughts?

Nothing could be tougher than the back half of last year’s schedule. Looking forward to a fresh start next season. Last year left a bad taste in my mouth. Glad King is gone, i want to see Mouph and Armwood get more time and also see what Pinkston can do. King hustled but he had a low bball IQ and took too many bad shots.

Projected starting lineup: G – Fisher G – Wayns G – Stokes F – Pena C – Yarou 6th – Cheek
Bench: Armwood, Pinkston, Bell, Sutton.

Agreed!

I will DEFINITELY be at the Philly matchup (a lock for Saturday at The Wach) and hope to get up to Cuse after missing out on last year’s game (although in retrospect I’m glad I wasn’t there for that beatdown).

My father was a military man. Guess I wasn't such a 'good soldier.' Anyways, when I was 35 he attempted to give me a crew-cut while I was asleep. I woke up, broke his arm, haven't seen him since.
