BREAKING: Taylor King leaves Villanova Basketball Team
UPDATE: Apparently, King has voluntarily removed himself from the team. Here is the official press release from Villanova:
"Villanova forward Taylor King (Huntington Beach, Cal./Santa Ana Mater Dei H.S.) has voluntarily withdrawn from the men's basketball team. He plans to remain at Villanova to focus his efforts on completing his degree requirements."
Original: ESPN has broken the story that Villanova F Taylor King has left the Villanova basketball team to work through 'personal issues', citing an unnamed source. The source told ESPN that King violated team rules and is no longer with the team.
At this time, it is unclear whether King, who has 2 years of eligibility left, plans to transfer or finish his education at the school.
...Yikes...well, I am 99% sure I know why this happened, as I'm sure a lot of Villanova fans do...but I'm not going to say why until there is an official release from the school...
...This is such a shame, TK looked so good early on in the year, then kind of faded away, and then was benched late in the year...ugh...and you just hope for good news in the offsesaon, yet it always seems like a quiet offseason is a successful one...

wow Im the only one?
Im not sure I can agree that this is a good thing for next year. He can rebound and shoot very well. I know he went cold towards the end of last year. But he brought a tenacity to the floor.
The team chemistry was a mess. We lacked a leader. Scottie who I like as a player didn’t have the pull with his teammates, that a team, with this talent should have. And that is irrefutable when you consider that Fisher “knocked up” Scotties long time GF.
This team just got a bit weaker. BUT they have the talent to survive. Jay needs to step his coaching up. If the team can’t gel behind a floor leader, they have to then all fall in line behind him.
