CAA Media Day Video Haven

Thanks to the good folks at The CAA Conference, we've got a ridiculous smattering of videos from CAA Media Day, which was held today at B&T Stadium in Baltimore, MD. There's plenty of good Villanova stuff in there, as well as an excellent photo gallery from Niki DeSantis.

We'll start you off with the 2009 Season In Review video, with more videos to follow after The Jump.

Hump Day Links - 7/28/10

There's some news-worthy, uh, news out there today as it relates to Villanova. Earlier today we saw that Villanova Football was picked to win the CAA this year (no real shocker there) and they also have the pre-season Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year in Matt Szczur and Terence Thomas.

Here's some more things that are going on in the Villanova world today...

Oh yeah, and I really need football season to start. Like right now.

It was announced today that The Wachovia Center will be re-named The Wells Fargo Center. Hence, 'The Wach' is no more.

What do we call this new arena? The Wells? The Fargo? How about the WeFarg?

Stealing a beyond genius idea from the guys at Casual Hoya (though genius may be too strong a word) and opening up our first edition of Interpret That Tweet, where we take a look at a Tweet from somebody in the Villanova program and try to figure out exactly what they are trying to say.

Today's contestant: rising sophomore F Isaiah Armwood, who showed flashes of brilliant play in his first season on campus last year. On to the tweet...

These steps all the way up to the third floor in bartly aint no joke

My thoughts as to the meaning, after The Jump...

The Best of the BIG EAST?

I just finished reading through Rush The Court's Top 20 BIG EAST players for the coming season, and to say the least, I've got a few thoughts. First off let me say that Rush The Court is a phenomenal college hoops blog. I read it daily during the season and check it at least a couple of times a week during the off-season.

And Zach Hayes is a great writer, whose opinion I respect after reading his work before. But I've got some problems with this list. I don't know if Zach considers himself a BEAST expert, or if he has allegiances in the conference. But what I do know is this list made me do a double-take more than once.

So as a self-proclaimed Villanova-guru and BEAST-expert, I'm going to tackle a few things that made me raise my eyebrows, as well as the Villanova selections. See you after The Jump...
